Until 2020 Würth Elektronik eiSos wants to bundle its development competencies in the new »HIC - Hightech Innovation Center«. To this end, the company is investing a mid-range, three-digit million sum in a new building.
With 13,700 m² of office and laboratory space on an 8,082 m² site in Munich-Freiham, Würth Elektronik eiSos is planning its new development center. At least 500 employees will research and develop new technologies and new products for Würth Elektronik eiSoS. The new development center thus also offers sufficient space to expand the research departments. Another goal for Würth Elektronik eiSos: with the Hightech Innovation Center, the company wants to promote interdisciplinary communication and thus also network the specific competencies of the departments with each other.
»Despite renting numerous additional facilities, the space in the Design Center Garching, our current location in Munich, is no longer sufficient. We will therefore be building new facilities and bundling the company's development competencies in Freiham,« explains Oliver Konz, CEO of Würth Elektronik eiSos. Thomas Schrott, also CEO Würth Elektronik eiSos, adds, »With the HIC we are expanding our activities in the metropolitan region of Munich, making our location a global center of research and development and a highly attractive workplace for electronics specialists from all countries and cultures who want to actively participate in shaping future technologies«.
»To ensure that our products optimally fulfill their respective purposes, we provide our customers with intensive support in questions of application. With this investment, we will immensely expand the research departments at the Munich Hightech Innovation Center,« says Alexander Gerfer, CEO Würth Elektronik eiSos.
Oliver Opitz, Site Manager and Vice President, confirms, »It is our central concern to promote interdisciplinary communication and to network the specific competencies of all departments of Würth Elektronik eiSos. Our customers and development partners should benefit from this proximity. We create the future«.
