embedded award 2022 Kategorie Embedded Vision
Happy winners in the category Embedded Vision: Christian Verbrugge (left) and Paschalis Pelitaris (right), both GrAI Matter Labs, are delighted to receive the embedded award 2022. The trophy and certificate were presented to them by Yasmine Blair (right), moderator of the award ceremony from NürnbergMesse, and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Sikora (left), Head of Jury.

GrAI Matter Labs with the Life-Ready AI chip

GrAI Matter Labs (GML) invented a novel intelligent dataflow compute architecture which combines the principles of biological systems, near memory compute and massively parallel cores. It is called NeuronFlow. Computations within the NeuronFlow architecture are event-based, with execution of a neuron operation only occurring when new data arrives at that neuron. New data or events only arrive at the neuron if they contain changes that are significant enough from the previous time instance.

GML’s NeuronFlow technology eliminates unnecessary computations and proceedes only with key aspects of a deep neutral network. GML’s unique neuromorphic computing paradigm offers massively parallel and fully programmable sensor analytics and machine learning at significantly reduced power consumption. GML’s programmable application processors provide AI with machine learning capabilities across the Internet of Things.

The new processor generation, GrAI VIP, Life-Ready AI Chip, offers an increase in capacity, is capable of running larger networks like ResNet-50 and was built on a more advanced process node compared to the 28-nm GrAI. Many optimizations of the architecture have also been announced.
