The high demand for automation solutions in industry has led to a record growth for the Balluff Group in 2017. Now the company is laying the foundation for further growth, giving itself a completely new structure.
What a year for the sensor and automation specialist Balluff: Together with the sales of the two companies ISS Innovative Software Services and Matrix Vision, which both were integrated last year, the Balluff Group reported sales growth of 21.4% to EUR 459 million in 2017 (2016: EUR 378 million). ISS and Matrix Vision contributed about 20 million Euro to the increase in sales. Even without the two new companies, an increase of 16 % would have been enough to set a new record.
Balluff's management sees the reasons for this strong result…
...in the positive global market development, particularly strong growth in important sectors such as the automotive, packaging, food and beverage industries and in the market of machine and plant manufacturers. Other success factors were the general increase in automation pressure in many industries, Balluff's good delivery performance and the integration of ISS and Matrix Vision into the Balluff Group.
"Of course we are pleased about this development," says Balluff’s Managing Director Katrin Stegmaier-Hermle. "With our solutions, we provide the basis for digitilization in industry and therefore of course work in an absolute growth segment. But - and we are particularly pleased about this - we are also gaining market share."
And the success story goes on:…
...in the first quarter of 2018 Balluff saw a sales growth of nine percent, and the continued positive economic development as well as the current order situation make Balluff optimistic for 2018 as a whole. And beyond that? Katrin Stegmaier-Hermle sums it up: "It is already clear that we will exceed our sales target of 500 million Euro for 2019 as planned - the only question is when exactly".
