Following the online interlude last year, the professional display community will meet again in person on June 22-23. The edC 2022 promises exciting and innovative topics with 9 keynotes, 47 presentations plus a poster session – as well as lots of opportunities for discussion of new projects.
With its nine keynote presentations, the »electronic displays Conference (edC) 2022« spans the spectrum from market studies through to technologies such as micro-LEDs, flexible OLEDs, 3D displays and display interfaces in the automobile, as well as AR and Smart Windows.
The program includes twelve technical sessions which cover the most relevant areas of professional display applications, for example in the field of automotive displays from control to optimized image quality and includes speakers from BMW, Mercedes and Stellantis as well as from component suppliers. Optical image quality is critical for virtually all professional applications – ten technical presentations by recognized display measurement specialists will »illuminate« the topic from a variety of perspectives.
In comparison the presentations on different display technologies like LCDs, OLEDs, micro-LEDs and electro wetting promise to be interesting and exciting and will also be presented by expert speakers from manufacturers such as Samsung and Royole. Which technologies and materials are best suited for which application? A specialist from Data Modul will be present to support the opinion-forming process with his presentation.
During the development phase of any product which includes a display, numerous aspects of system integration must be considered. Here too, the edC 2022 will »deliver«: touch screens, gesture control, GUI software, display monitoring, EMC, automated assembly and other topics. The AR/VR session explores the question of which display technology will prevail and will present some promising applications.
The edC can also boast a new record this year: with seven speakers from the USA and China, it reflects the increasing and important internationalization of the edC.
After the presentations, the edC will once more offer participants the opportunity to enter into discussions with speakers at the Author Interview Tables in an informal setting. During the breaks, the accompanying poster session will contribute to constructive discussions and participants can use the time for casual networking. In personal conversations, many new joint projects can be initiated again in 2022. At this point I would like to thank our sponsors: Data Modul, DFF, Konica Minolta, Merck, Radiant, Socionext, TechnoTeam and TZ electronic systems. Their support and commitment has contributed greatly to the success of this year's electronic displays Conference.
»Seeing is believing«, the electronic displays area will be even bigger this year, filling almost half of Hall 1. In addition to the visual impression, it also offers opportunities for technical discussions with exhibitors in order to help developers take their future products to market successfully.
