The new SDM4000A series of high-speed 5½-digit and 6½-digit Digital multimeters from Siglent score with 2,200,000 counts, fast reading rate of 50,000 readings/s, minimum sampling interval of 20 µs, 11 measurement functions, and a touchscreen with an intuitive interface.
Siglents SDM4000A series offers 5½-digit (220,000 counts) and 6½-digit resolution (2,200,000 counts) with a full-scale display range from -2,199,999 to +2,199,999. Its high performance ensures precise capture of subtle current variations and large voltage fluctuations.
The SDM4055A series achieves a maximum reading rate of 4,800 readings/s, while the SDM4065A series supports up to 50,000 readings/s. Both models offer adjustable measurement speeds (fast/medium/slow). For the SDM4065A, its sampling interval can be precisely configured from 0.001 PLC to 1,000 PLC (Power Line Cycle), enabling superior performance in high-speed data acquisition and micro-variation monitoring—ideal for applications requiring precise measurements.
The new multimeter series offers three advanced acquisition modes tailored for versatile measurement needs. In Continuous Sampling Mode, users can monitor signals in real-time with constant-rate sampling, this is ideal for observing dynamic changes as they happen.
The built-in Data Logging function allows for uninterrupted measurement sessions. Thanks to a big 2 GB internal storage, these can last up to 100 hours and is perfect for long-term trend analysis in both lab and field environments.
Additionally, the Digitizer function, available in the SDM4065A models, brings exceptional performance for high-precision, low-frequency signal acquisition, and outperforming traditional oscilloscopes and spectrum analyzers, and making it particularly well-suited for applications like audio signal digitization.
The SDM4000A series offers five powerful mathematical functions: statistics, limits, dBm, dB, and relative measurements. It quickly calculates max/min, average, peak-to-peak, standard deviation, and sample count, while enabling pass/fail testing with preset thresholds. Additionally, it supports voltage-to-power conversion, dB-based relative measurements, and deviation analysis for enhanced versatility.
With four display modes, Numeric, Histogram, Trend Chart, and Bar Chart, users can easily analyze data. The Numeric mode provides instant clarity, the Histogram aids in data distribution analysis, the Trend Chart visualizes dynamic patterns for trend prediction, and the Bar Chart offers rapid comparisons under varying conditions.
The Probe Hold function stabilizes measurements. Once readings are stable, the multimeter’s buzzer alerts the user, displaying the results and automatically retaining the last eight readings for comparison. Historical data can be accessed at any time for detailed analysis, and data can be cleared with a single click.
The SDM4000A series excels in storage and retrieval capabilities. The SDM4055A is equipped with 512MB RAM and 256MB NAND Flash, while the SDM4065A can store up to 2 million readings. Users can manage parameter files both in internal storage and on external USB devices, supporting various file types, including CSV, XML, and images. File management features such as folder creation, screen captures, and file renaming ensure efficient data handling.
For connectivity, the SDM4000A series includes USB Host, USB Device, and LAN interfaces, with an optional USB-GPIB module. It supports SCPI remote control commands, PC-based software, and compatibility with mainstream multimeter command sets. The built-in web server allows for direct remote control and programming via a browser, meeting diverse communication and automation needs.
