Edmund Optics Introduces Range of Off-the-Shelf Sapphire Aspheric Lenses for High Power Laser Applications

For advanced production and material processing industries Edmund Optics has developed a range of off-the-shelf Sapphire Aspheric Lenses. The lenses are designed specifically for demanding high-power laser and material processing applications to handle high power lasers with precision performance.

Designed and coated at 1064 nm, these Sapphire Aspheric Lenses deliver diffraction-limited performance and provide significant advantages over traditional fused silica lenses.

Key benefits include superior thermal conductivity and a 50 % reduction in thermally induced focal shift, ensuring consistent and precise laser performance. The lenses also feature 3X faster thermal focal shift rise times and are significantly thinner than comparable fused silica designs, contributing to enhanced system stability. Available uncoated, with a standard laser V-coat, or with custom coatings, these sapphire lenses offer a durable solution ideal for laser applications requiring high precision and power.
