Since 2010, iesy's average sales growth has been around 20 percent per year. »The growth has also had an impact on the space requirements in the company,« says owner and managing director Martin Steger. Iesy specializes in the development, production and distribution of customized embedded systems. Traditionally, the electronics company manufactures applications for industrial customers in German-speaking countries. In recent years, however, iesy has also increasingly been producing products for foreign customers.

Company area triples

Currently, iesy develops and produces on an area of about 1000 m². With the extension, an additional 2000 m² of floor space will be added. With this investment, the managing director sees himself well positioned for the future. However, the extension will not only create production and office space – Steger also wants to further increase the workforce.

The core of the extension is to be the »iesy Casino« – a kind of modern multifunctional area. In addition to break times, employees will also be able to meet here for meetings and customer appointments – and new impulses and ideas will also be generated in the iesy Casino. According to Steger, there are already concrete ideas on how the area will be designed.

Modernization in the production area

With the new production areas, the company is investing primarily in areas where electronic components and semiconductors are processed, partially automatically assembled and tested. The storage area, including modern storage technology, is also being enlarged.

The start of construction was preceded by an intensive planning phase, during which tender documents were drawn up and the extension was described in detail. In the end, the project was awarded to the regionally based architectural firm »Artec« from Lüdenscheid. Steger and his team were already thinking about the future when drawing up the plans: there are plans that will make a further expansion of the company's floor space possible.
