iWave Global, a provider of embedded computing and FPGA solutions, has announced the launch of the industry’s first System on Module (SoM) fully compliant with SGET’s oHFM standard (Open Harmonized FPGA Module).
The iG-G74M defines the first commercially available implementation of the oHFM standard. Based on the AMD Artix UltraScale+ FPGA, the iG-G74M SoM is built on the ultra-compact oHFM.c Size-S form factor (75 mm x 50 mm), setting a new benchmark for modular, scalable FPGA platforms.
The oHFM standard, developed by SGET (Standardization Group for Embedded Technologies), defines a common architecture for FPGA SoMs with two variants - oHFM.c for modular, high-speed connector-based flexibility and oHFM.s for solderable, low-profile reliability. Spanning eight scalable sizes from Size-S to Size-XL, it supports diverse applications in industrial, automotive, medical, aerospace, and defense markets.
“Open standards like oHFM are essential for building scalable and sustainable FPGA platforms,” said Sheik Abdullah, Chairman of the oHFM Working Group at SGeT. “iWave’s Artix UltraScale+ oHFM.c Size-S SoM empowers designers with modularity, interoperability, and seamless scalability.”
iWave has begun rolling out evaluation samples of the iG-G74M in the oHFM.c Size-S form factor. Customers can request early-access samples, evaluation support, and technical documentation by contacting the iWave sales team at mktg@iwave-global.com.
