DFI, a manufacturer of embedded motherboards and industrial computers, has focused on developing edge AI computing products in recent years. For this purpose, the Taiwan-based company has equipped products with Intel graphics processors. DFI uses single-root input/output virtualization technology to offer corresponding modules. This should make it possible to run different operating systems and integrate large amounts of data with one processor.

DFI's product portfolio ranges from the industrial-grade »ADS310« motherboard with the 12th generation of Intel CPUs to the »EC70A-TGU« module and tablets. The products are designed to help optimize operations, reduce data connectivity costs with the cloud, and improve revenue and efficiency.

Intel's virtualization technology in particular is expected to open up new application areas. For example, smart streetlights and retail are moving toward workload consolidation. Through this, devices are able to run virtualization technology and AI edge computing to detect, count and monitor people flows faster, for example.

Retailers can use the identification system to determine the age and gender of customers to decide whether the customer is of age and a sale is possible or to analyze the consumer behavior of different customer segments.
