Infineon launched the first silicon carbide components 20 years ago. Dr. Peter Friedrichs, now Vice President SiC at Infineon, was already on board at that time. We were able to talk exclusively with him about this and much more.

We asked him which hurdles were to be overcome at that time, what the current challenges are, and in which direction silicon carbide is heading.
