20 Years of AUTOSAR

Formed in 2003 AUTOSAR has become the most influential standardization activity on software architecture in automobiles. The AUTOSAR alliance comprises up to now about 350 partners. The global partnership of leading companies in the automotive and software industry is commonly working to realize AUTOSARs mission: to develop and establish the standardized software framework and open E/E system architecture for intelligent mobility. Considering the different automotive E/E architectures in the current and future markets, the partnership establishes a de-facto open industry standard for an automotive software architecture. It is and will serve in future as the basic infrastructure for functions and services needed in future mobility fulfilling high demands on dependability. With its opening strategy AUTOSAR will speed up its development and will include results from our collaborations with 3rd party organizations in the Automotive Development Ecosystem.
