Ziehl-Abegg is increasing its investment in additional production capacity by €90 million to meet growing global demand for fans used in AI data centers, as well as continued growth in building ventilation, heat pump, and refrigeration applications.
According to the company, Ziehl-Abegg is pursuing one of the largest investment programs in its history. In addition to its previously planned capital expenditure budget, the company has now announced a further €90 million to expand its global manufacturing capacity.
The additional investment will be used for machinery, tooling, and production equipment at facilities in Europe, the United States, and Asia.
Joachim Ley, CEO of Ziehl-Abegg, has announced an additional €90 million investment in machinery, tooling, and production capacity.
The expansion is driven by increasing worldwide demand for energy-efficient fans and drive systems, which Ziehl-Abegg aims to serve over the long term.
"We are seeing very dynamic growth across our markets worldwide," says Joachim Ley, CEO of Ziehl-Abegg. "Demand from the AI data center sector is growing particularly strongly. At the same time, we continue to see positive momentum in applications for building ventilation, air conditioning, and refrigeration."
According to the company, demand is growing so rapidly across several continents that existing production plants are already operating at high capacity. In the United States, the company has created the conditions for three-shift operation. At its German sites, some production lines now run around the clock, including weekends. The plant in China has been operating three shifts, six days a week, since last autumn.
"These investments not only strengthen our competitiveness, they also safeguard the jobs of our existing employees worldwide," Ley emphasizes.
