WiFi, Bluetooth mesh, cloud and more

Silicon Labs will be presenting a of energy-efficient wireless applications for smart homes, building automation, lighting, utility meters and other IoT applications at its Embedded World Booth.

Visitors of the Embedded World 2018 can see demonstrations of new low-power WiFi products, Bluetooth mesh and Bluetooth 5 software as well as Zigbee/Thread Mesh products in operation at the Silicon Laboratories booth. Also featured will be: multi-protocol support for all wireless technologies from Bluetooth to proprietary sub-GHz wireless networks, a secure device-variety to-cloud connection, and digital coupler to protect embedded systems.

• New, power-saving, high-throughput WiFi components for high data rates and secure connections to cloud services.
• Connecting a smartphone to a sub-GHz network via Bluetooth LE.
• Bluetooth mesh and Bluetooth 5: Advantages of wireless networking using the example of position determination in rooms. In action: Sensor demo module Thunderboard Sense 2.
• Multi-protocol SoCs, development tools and reference designs for quick development of IoT devices for IEEE 802.15.4 networks such as Zigbee and Thread.
• Combining the EFM32 Giant Gecko microcontroller with a Digi LTE-M module for easy connection to cloud services via LTE wireless.
• Protection of sensitive components in embedded systems with the digital coupler.
