The new wireless module from u-blox operates on both WLAN frequency ranges - 2.4 and 5 GHz simultaneously, enabling the highest possible data transfer rate. The new WiFi 6 standard also allows for higher device density and less data congestion. Simultaneous support of Wi-Fi and Bluetooth ensures that optimal data transfer is achieved while maintaining stable and clear phone connections. Wi-Fi 6 is backwards compatible with earlier standards, allowing continued interoperability with older hardware.

The JODY-W3 module series also supports simultaneous operating modes: Access Point (AP) with up to 32 stations, Station (STA) and Wi-Fi Direct (P2P). This enables new approaches for implementing over-the-air (OTA) updates, wireless vehicle diagnostics, interaction with the charging infrastructure of electric vehicles and map updates. In addition, the WLAN security standard WPA3 is also supported. The new series is offered in a compact 13.8 x 19.8 mm package and is compatible with u-blox JODY-W1 and JODY-W2 modules. The module is automotive-grade and complies with AEC-Q100 Class 2.
