The Johor facility serves customers in Southeast Asia, Northeast Asia, Australia, and New Zealand. In addition to manufacturing, the site includes engineering, logistics, and deployment capabilities. Its location in a growing industrial hub is expected to improve access to technology clusters and customer centers across the region.

Manufacturing for power and cooling systems

At the Johor facility, Vertiv manufactures and assembles power supply and thermal management systems. The product portfolio includes CoolChip coolant distribution units (CDUs) for liquid cooling, prefabricated Power Modules and Power Skids, as well as the SmartRun overhead infrastructure system.

According to the company, the prefabricated Power Modules and Power Skids can reduce the deployment time for power infrastructure by up to 50 percent compared with conventional installations. The SmartRun system is designed to reduce on-site installation time by up to 85 percent.

Testing environment for infrastructure solutions

The facility also includes a dedicated testing environment for liquid cooling and power infrastructure solutions. Among other capabilities, it enables full-range performance testing of CDUs as well as simultaneous testing of multiple Power Modules and Power Skids under conditions that replicate customer site environments.

According to the company, these validation capabilities are intended to reduce deployment risk and accelerate commissioning in enterprise, cloud, and colocation data centers.

Full operation planned for 2027

Vertiv expects the facility to create several hundred skilled jobs once it reaches full operational capacity in 2027. The new manufacturing site is part of the company's broader expansion of regional production capacity for AI and digital infrastructure.
