With more than 20 presentations from BMW, VW, Renault, Bosch, NXP and Technica, among others, the ninth Automotive Ethernet Congress (March 22-23, 2023 in Munich) will once again offer a top-class program - and, for the first time, a special TSN training the day before.

The spectrum of the Automotive Ethernet Congress (March 22-23, 2023 at the Hilton Munich Airport) ranges from fundamental developments and trends to detailed technical solutions. For example, automotive Ethernet pioneer Thomas Königseder (Technica) will report on the difficult start of Ethernet in vehicles - including the mistakes made at the beginning and what can be learned from them - in his keynote address "How did the Automotive Ethernet vision of 15 years ago turn out today?". Building on this, Königseder explores the question of how Automotive Ethernet will develop over the next 15 years. In the second keynote, Dilip Jayavant (John Deere) looks at the potential of Ethernet in agricultural technology and explains what the off-road and on-road industries can learn from each other.

Further focal points of the Automotive Ethernet Congress supported by Technica include the topics Architecture, Ethernet/SerDes/PCIe, Test/Tools, Security/MACsec, Middleware/Software as well as TSN. In addition, for the first time, there will be a special TSN training session on the day before the congress: on March 21, 2023, experts will explain the basics and practical applications of shaping, stream identification and policing as well as time-aware shapers and other TSN features under the motto "What you need to know about TSN".

The congress, he said, is the perfect place to discuss the latest trends, share information on roadmaps, see new products, hear thought-provoking presentations, and much more. Specifically, Lars Völker believes that Media Access Control security (MACsec) is one of the most important trends: "At the Automotive Ethernet Congress 2023, MACsec will therefore be a main topic with numerous presentations, products and a dedicated plugfest."
