Are local wireless mesh technologies part of the IoT future? Definitely yes. Wireless mesh technologies, such as IQRF, can provide reliable communication platform to collect data from sensors and control different type of devices. Smart control by a local gateway prevents loosing functionality in case of internet connectivity lost, don’t jam wireless environment with sending out unprocessed data to cloud and are less influenced by other wireless communication. Wireless mesh technologies, as a complement to LPWAN, 4G and NB-IOT, will have a key role in Smart city, Smart building and Industry 4.0 use cases.
