Spectra GmbH & Co. KG in Reutlingen, a provider of industrial PCs and automation technology, has acquired ICP Deutschland GmbH, which is based in the same city. ICP Deutschland distributes the products of Taiwanese manufacturer IEI Integration (formerly ICP Electronics), among others.
With this step, Spectra is expanding its product and solution portfolio in the field of industrial PCs for industrial automation and strengthening its market position in industrial PCs and automation solutions. ‘With the acquisition of ICP Deutschland, we are consistently continuing our strategic orientation,’ comments Klaus Rottmayr, Managing Director of Spectra. Spectra acquired Munich-based Compmall Computer-Vertriebs GmbH just two months ago.
With the entry in the commercial register, the business operations of ICP Deutschland were transferred to Spectra. All rights and obligations of ICP Deutschland are transferred to Spectra; all contracts therefore remain valid. The business of ICP Deutschland will continue to be conducted within Spectra; this also applies to warranty claims, for example. All correspondence and deliveries will be handled by Spectra with immediate effect. Open transactions will be taken over by Spectra. Spectra was founded in 1982 and employs over 100 people at locations in Germany, Austria and Switzerland.
All employees of ICP Deutschland will be taken over and integrated into the Spectra team. Harald Behnstedt, the previous Managing Director of ICP Deutschland, will become Head of Business Development at Spectra. He will be responsible for this area together with Albin Markwardt, the former Managing Director of Compmall.
