During Productronica, SEMICON Europa will also take place at the exhibition grounds in Munich - this year with new partners.
SEMICON Europa, the largest European event that links the entire supply chain for electronics design and manufacturing from innovation to application, will take place from November 12 to 15, 2019 at the Munich Exhibition Center parallel to productronica 2019. SEMICON Europe offers exhibitors and visitors many synergies, and an even greater range of information through unique exchange opportunities.
The exponential growth of the industry in the following »SMART« industries will be presented: Automotive, Medical, Design and Fabless, SMART Manufacturing, MEMS and Sensors, Image Processing, Materials, and Workforce Development. Registration is open to visitors and exhibitors.
Europe's research and development centers, chip manufacturers, as well as material and equipment companies are strategically positioned in the global electronics value chain to drive the development and growth of SMART applications.
»Cooperation and investment in key segments of SMART applications, including medical technology and the automotive industry, in which continental Europe plays a key role, are crucial for continued innovation in the European semiconductor industry,« said Laith Altimime, President of SEMI Europe. »SEMICON Europe is the leading platform in Europe where key players along the value chain come together to collaborate.«
To strengthen Europe's strategic leadership and drive the development of new products and technologies, this year SEMI has entered into partnerships with imec, CEA-Leti and Fraunhofer, three of the world's leading technology research and innovation centers. SEMI Europe received additional support from Bosch, Infineon and Intel Ireland. For the first time in decades, all three European chip manufacturers have invested heavily in new 300 mm wafer factories to boost the digital economy.
Also at the beginning of this year, the German luxury car manufacturer, Audi AG, was the first automobile manufacturer (OEM) to join SEMI as a member, thus strengthening its orientation toward the automotive supply chain segments.
The SMART Transportation Forum and the SMART Transportation Pavilion bring together key stakeholders along the automotive value chain to explore innovation opportunities in automotive electronics. The program is organized by SEMI Global Automotive Advisory Council (GAAC) and supported by SEMI Strategic Association Partner ESD (Electronic System Design).
