The appliedAI Initiative and the enterprise software manufacturer SAP have announced their partnership. The aim is to combine their respective strengths and put Europe at the forefront of AI.
The appliedAI Initiative GmbH (Initiative for Applied Artificial Intelligence) sees itself as Europe's largest initiative for the application of trustworthy AI and supports companies in their holistic AI transformation. Now appliedAI and SAP are entering into a strategic partnership for the development and application of AI in companies. Together, the two partners want to explore AI scenarios and identify suitable use cases for SAP customers. The aim of the cooperation is to find effective solutions that bring benefits in industrial applications and drive forward the implementation of AI.
SAP's enterprise software is used by many partners of the appliedAI initiative. In combination with the collaboration between SAP and appliedAI, this opens up a wide range of opportunities for the appliedAI partnership network to optimise business processes with AI and make better use of data, particularly in the areas of finance, HR and supply chain.
The overall aim of the partnership between appliedAI and SAP is to develop holistic strategic AI planning together with companies. It comprises three core areas:
1. promotion of AI in the product portfolio: appliedAI supports SAP in evaluating AI scenarios. This is done through targeted exchange formats and by contributing the experience that appliedAI has already gained from working with a large network of industrial companies.
2. knowledge transfer and further training: learning paths are developed jointly in order to promote further AI training within the company. The integration of SAP into the appliedAI network ensures a continuous exchange of knowledge.
3. joint events and innovative use cases: Joint events will be organised with the partners to discuss the use of AI in specific business processes such as finance and supply chain and to develop innovative use cases.
‘The partnership with appliedAI is an important step in evaluating and driving forward further AI applications in business processes,’ explains Dr Philipp Herzig, Chief AI Officer at SAP SE. ‘The collaboration enables us and our customers to better utilise the potential of the technology and, together with the appliedAI partner network, to build up the necessary knowledge about AI in companies.’ Dr Andreas Liebl, CEO and co-founder of appliedAI, adds: ‘A key to increasing efficiencies with AI and improving operational processes lies in the use of AI in business processes. SAP's global footprint and commitment to AI make the company an ideal partner for our mission to maintain and grow Europe's competitiveness.’
