In-Tech Smart Charging introduces Charge Control L, a new charge controller. The full-fledged automotive controller allows vehicle manufacturers to implement DC charging capability in their vehicles.
The control unit from In-Tech subsidiary In-Tech Smart Charging is integrated into the vehicle by means of a CAN interface and handles communication with the charging station and monitoring of the charging process. According to In-Tech, Charge Control L is the first product on the market to meet the functional safety requirements of ISO 26262 ASIL B. To this end, the control unit monitors, for example, the temperature at the charging plug, the status LEDs and the plug interlocks.
The main target group for the charge controller are manufacturers of commercial vehicles such as buses, trucks and other special-purpose vehicles that usually charge with direct current. Charge Control L offers these customers a ready-to-use solution: after integration into the vehicle via the CAN bus, the control unit handles all communication with the charging station as well as monitoring of the charging process.
In addition, the control unit can be connected to an onboard charger to enable AC charging and to extend older architectures with ISO-15118 functionalities. Charge Control L complies with ISO 15118 or DIN 70121 charging standards for DC charging and IEC 61851 and ISO 15118 for AC charging.
Developer samples for Charge Control L are available for order now.
