As a result of the close collaboration between Phytec and Vision Components (VC), Phytec's ‘phyBOARD for VC MIPI’ development kit is now available for over 50 VC MIPI cameras in two versions with NXP i.MX 8M Plus and NXP i.MX 8M Mini processor boards.
Both versions support plug-and-play for over 50 VC cameras with MIPI CSI-2 interface. The two embedded vision kits enable a direct start to development – with cameras whose image sensors have resolutions ranging from 0.5 to over 20 megapixels and feature global shutter, rolling shutter or rolling reset shutter. They can be ordered from both companies and cost €295 plus VAT for the ‘phyBOARD-Pollux’ imaging kit (i.MX 8M Plus) and €480 plus VAT for the ‘phyBOARD-Polis’ imaging kit (i.MX 8M Mini). Users can select the desired VC-MIPI camera module separately.
Both development kits contain all the necessary components for quick and easy setup of an embedded system with integrated image processing. The corresponding V4L2 drivers for addressing the VC-MIPI cameras from your own applications or via middleware such as GStreamer, OpenCV or MVTec Halcon are included in the supplied Linux BSP. The scope of delivery also includes adapters and cables for the VC-MIPI cameras and, for the phyBOARD-Polis with i.MX-8M mini processor board, a 10-inch display with capacitive touch. The phyBOARD-Pollux with i.MX-8M-Plus processor board supports HDMI for connecting a standard display.
The Embedded Vision Kit was developed in close cooperation between Phytec and Vision Components with the aim of simplifying the development of custom embedded vision applications for customers through a wide selection of image sensors and integration with processor boards. Phytec's processor boards and Vision Components' MIPI CSI-2 cameras are characterised by industrial-grade quality ‘Made in Germany’, long-term availability and a favourable price-performance ratio. Both companies offer customers comprehensive support in development and integration.
Phytec develops and manufactures embedded system on modules, processor boards and complete systems for industrial series production in Mainz. The company also offers comprehensive services – from the development of customised hardware and software according to customer requirements to embedded imaging integration, security, updates and device management.
Vision Components has been an expert in embedded vision for around 30 years and develops and manufactures MIPI cameras, embedded vision systems and accessories for simple, fast and cost-effective integration in Ettlingen near Karlsruhe.
