At embedded world 2026, Socionext will showcase new architectures for AI, automotive, data center, and edge applications. A key focus is the role of advanced PCIe connectivity in enabling centralized compute platforms that will shape the next generation of automotive electronics.
Socionext (Booth 4A-628) will showcase a live demonstrator of its automotive high-performance compute (HPC) platform, integrating two automotive-qualified technologies: The SANDISK AT EN610 NVMe SSD and Socionext’s SC1900 PCIe Gen4 switch. This platform highlights how combining high-performance storage with advanced PCIe switching provides a flexible, scalable foundation for next-generation ADAS, high-performance compute (HPC), and in vehicle infotainment (IVI) architectures built around centralized storage.
»Our goal at Socionext is to deliver silicon solutions that anticipate our customers’ next challenges,« says Stephan Ahles, Marketing Manager at Socionext Europe. »Working with Sandisk allows us to combine advanced PCIe switching with high-performance SSD technology - a powerful pairing for next-generation ADAS and IVI systems delivering the performance, reliability, and long-term upgradeability required for the new era of autonomous mobility.«
The integration of Sandisk and Socionext products delivers a platform that enables customers to rapidly develop modern HPC architectures featuring multiple interconnected automotive SoCs. Centered around a PCIe switch and shared NVMe storage, the platform provides flexible, low-latency, high-bandwidth communication ideally suited for demanding automotive workloads such as AI inferencing and camera data processing. Advanced features include multicast - for parallel distribution of sensor data to multiple compute SoCs - and virtualized access to shared SSD storage via SR-IOV, enabling efficient resource sharing and robust system scalability.
The Socionext SC1900 PCIe switch contributes multi-root support, SR-IOV, multicast, robust access control, and flexible partitioning, delivering secure and optimized connectivity for diverse compute domains. Complementing this, SANDISK AT EN610 NVMe SSD provides high performance tailored for automotive deployments, including multiple namespaces and configurable TLC/SLC modes to meet varying endurance and performance demands.
