Direkt an der Elbe mit Blick auf die Altstadt liegt das moderne Congress Center Dresden.
Next May, connect-ec will take place in Dresden. Connect-ec is a new trade fair for the latest trends in the world of telecommunications. With topics such as 5G, car connectivity and smart home, the four-day event is aimed at both end consumers and trade visitors.
According to the organizers WEKA Media Publishing and WEKA Fachmedien, Germany's first telecommunications trade fair connect-ec will take place in Dresden from May 2nd to 5th 2019. Whether foldable smartphones, 5G smartphones, connected cars, or flying taxis: connect-ec will present the most important trends around the mobile topics of the future. »We want to make the latest telecommunications products and technologies tangible to a broad audience of trade visitors and interested end users at Germany's first telecommunications trade fair and congress,« explains Dirk Waasen, Publishing Director of WEKA Media Publishing GmbH. Specifically, the focus will be on the four subject areas of mobile, home, mobility and specialist trade, which in turn will cover areas such as 5G, smartphones, smart home, gaming, autonomous driving, and car connectivity.
connect-ec is aimed at both end consumers and trade visitors and combines an exhibition and conference program. On the first two days, experts from industry will speak about the present and future times of the telecommunications industry, especially in the areas of mobile networks, car connectivity, security and electromobility. »The congress offers companies the opportunity to present their products in Europe's high-tech environment and reach dealers, industry, and consumers at the same time,« said Waasen. On Saturday and Sunday, the fair will also be open to end consumers and will attract visitors with its experience areas and specialist information, for example on electromobility. Workshops on various topics will also be on the agenda at connect-ec.

The event is supported among others by the city of Dresden, which should offer numerous advantages as a venue. According to Waasen, the Saxon state capital is characterized by both an excellent infrastructure and a highly modern conference center. The Congress Center Dresden has a total area of 3,600 square meters and can accommodate up to 6,800 visitors.
Tickets for the two pure exhibition days on Saturday and Sunday cost five euros, but the first 1,000 tickets are free. Tickets for the conference start at 50 euros. Further information can be found on the connect-ec 2019 website.
