DFKI has a new chief financial officer. Helmut Ditzer has taken over the position of CFO and, together with DFKI CEO Prof. Antonio Krüger, is now forming the top management team at the research institution since May 3rd.
Helmut Ditzer holds a degree in business administration. He has many years of experience in strategic planning, bid, project and investment controlling and was Head of Controlling at Swiss Post Solutions for over 12 years.
Now, at the German Research Center for Artificial Intelligence - DFKI - in Kaiserslautern, he is responsible for finance controlling of the currently more than 250 ongoing research projects. He is responsible for the management, coordination and resource planning of the administrative and financial area of DFKI with several departments and thus has the responsibility for all financial and business matters. Helmut Ditzer will continue to structurally orchestrate DFKI's organic growth so that DFKI, given the economic and social importance of the results of AI research, is securely positioned as an attractive employer and research partner in the future.
For more than 30 years, DFKI has been researching AI for humans and is oriented towards social relevance and scientific excellence in the critical future-oriented research and application areas of artificial intelligence. Currently, about 1120 employees from over 65 nations are researching software applications.
