New Automation Unit with Rainer Brehm as President
As part of its ‘One Tech Company’ strategy, Siemens will consolidate the four divisions of its automation business into a single organization with effect from 1 October 2026. The Siemens Executive Board has appointed Rainer Brehm as President of the new unit.
The existing business units of Customer Services, Factory Automation, Motion Control and Process Automation will be consolidated into a single unit – Automation – with effect from 1 October 2026. Rainer Brehm will simultaneously assume the role of President and will then report directly to Cedrik Neike, a member of the Executive Board of Siemens AG and CEO of Digital Industries.
In his current role as Digital Industries COO for automation business and CTO, Brehm has been driving the strategic development of the company’s automation portfolio, including technologies such as software-defined automation and Industrial AI. Prior to this role, he served as CEO of the Factory Automation business unit.
