In view of the accelerated spread of the Coronavirus, the intralogistics and process management trade fair Logimat 2020 in Stuttgart was cancelled due to an official order. The fair should have taken place from 10 to 12 March.
Despite the coronavirus problem, Logimat 2020 was actually supposed to take place - at least Logimat trade fair organiser Euroexpo Messe- und Kongress-GmbH, together with Landesmesse Stuttgart and the relevant local authorities, had previously assumed that the trade fair was feasible. According to the Esslingen health authority, there was no increased risk for exhibitors and visitors.
However, the risk of infection has increased in the meantime due to the increased and accelerated spread of the Coronavirus in Germany, in particular in the Stuttgart region. The responsible public order office in Leinfelden-Echterdingen has therefore ordered the trade fair organiser to cancel Logimat 2020 on the urgent recommendation of the responsible health office in the Esslingen district.
"This is bitter because Logimat Stuttgart is of outstanding importance for the worldwide intralogistics industry. The cancellation of Logimat 2020 due to external, unforeseeable circumstances is a novelty in its 18-year history. After a great deal of effort, we were unable to find a suitable date with Landesmesse Stuttgart for a later event in 2020 and therefore decided with a heavy heart to cancel Logimat 2020," says Christoph Huss, Managing Partner of Euroexpo, explaining the cancellation.
The next Logimat will take place from 9 to 11 March 2021 in Stuttgart.
