Kontron will present its portfolio of IIoT applications at the SPS in Nuremberg from November 8 to 10. The central topics of the trade fair presentation are the »susietec« toolset for digital solutions and services. In addition, high-performance edge computing based on current Intel processors.
With susietec, Kontron developed a toolset which can be used to bring together different IoT infrastructures. With the help of the combination of software, hardware and expertise, engine builders, system integrators and manufacturers can achieve their digital transformation goals. The individual tools of the susietec toolset provide them with digital solution approaches from a single source. At the trade fair, Kontron will show the various tools as well as two preassembled systems as HW/SW bundles.
Kontron's robust KBox industrial PCs are characterized by high performance, compact design and long-term availability. At SPS 2022, Kontron will showcase the latest addition to the KBox family with 12th Gen Intel Core i processors providing higher computing power than its predecessors. The new »KBox R-101« control and communication platform is based on a fanless, passively cooled and IP54-compliant system solution with established and industry-approved mechanical and electronic components. The EN 50155-compliant system as well as all external interfaces are specifically designed for use in railways and public transport as well as in harsh industrial environments.
Kontron presents high-performance graphics and computing power with the expansion of its new motherboard and associated »Smartcase« system family based on 12th Gen Intel Core i processors. With the Mini-ATX motherboard, Kontron now offers a product family of new motherboards »Designed and Made in Germany«, consisting of Mini-ITX, µATX and ATX. The boards are particularly interesting for all applications with a high demand for PCIe scalability – including PCIe 5.0, which is twice as fast as the previously prevailing PCIe 4.0 standard. They are suitable for industrial automation, medical technology, high-performance workstations for CAD applications (including gaming PCs) as well as for video editing and video wall displays.
Furthermore, the latest members of the »Kiss« product family in 1U/2U/4U formats for industrial use are also based on 12th Gen Core i processors. The rackmount systems are specifically designed for demanding and challenging environments and are therefore suitable for applications with high temperature environments, mechanical stress conditions and low operating noise.
Kontron will also be presenting the new »KWS 3000-ADL« industrial workstation, which combines the advantages of an industrial PC in terms of robustness and long-term availability with those of an office PC in terms of design and user-friendliness. Thanks to its 12th Gen Core i processor, it also easily handles computationally intensive applications such as machine/deep learning or AI workflows with performance-hungry processes and large amounts of data.
The new »PiXtend Pi 4« automation system, part of Kontron Electronics’ PiXtend brand, is based on the Raspberry Pi 4 platform. The Broadcom BCM2711, Quad Core Arm Cortex-A72 with 1.5 GHz is the most powerful processor of the Raspberry Pi Foundation. The main field of application of the single-board computer PiXtend Pi 4, optionally also with Codesys, is device and machine construction. Furthermore, the i.MX8M platform, now also with Codesys for computationally intensive applications in small spaces, will be presented.
