Symbolic ground-breaking ceremony: Founder and CEO of Deutsche Lichtmiete Alexander Hahn, authorized officer Christian Effenberger, architect Martin Schmied, building contractor Dirk Hillmer, and mayor Dr. Christian Pundt herald the start of construction.

The Deutsche Lichtmiete company group is expanding its LED production and building an additional production site in the Sandkrug Business Park in Lower Saxony. This will also create around 25 new jobs.

A production and warehouse with modern production and logistics will be built on the 9000 square meter site by the end of 2018. Production is expected to start in the first quarter of 2019. The investment sum amounts to around 5 million euros. The new building complex comprises a production hall on two levels with an area of 1800 m², two warehouses with incoming and outgoing goods on an area of around 1400 m² as well as various offices and social areas. Two production lines with assembly systems for strip lighting and hall spotlights as well as an application system are planned.

LED light production "Made in Germany" is only one pillar of the business model of the Oldenburg lighting specialists. The LED lights are sustainably produced in our own production facilities and rented out as a tailor-made solution to large industrial and small and medium-sized companies according to their needs. "Our customers do not have to make large investments that only amortize themselves after many years, but benefit from day one: After deduction of the rental rate, the savings are often in the range of 15 to 25 percent of the total cost of lighting to date - under optimum lighting conditions," explains CEO Alexander Hahn.

In 2008 Hahn founded Deutsche Lichtmiete, in the midst of the global financial crisis, with a business model that is still unique today: sustainable, CO2-saving high-tech products from its own production in Germany in an innovative rental model including installation, maintenance, and service. Since entering the market in 2012, the Group has approximately doubled its volume of new business annually. In the meantime, the "inventor of light rental" has been well accepted by German industry. This has also raised the interest of some competitors. But Hahn is convinced: "Our great advantage is that we can offer individual solutions along the entire value chain and act completely independently.

The LED chips from Nichia (Japan) are assembled on circuit boards in Huntlosen in Lower Saxony according to the highest standards as in aerospace technology. Further production is largely carried out by hand according to industrial standards at the production site of Deutsche Lichtmiete in Oldenburg. Our own installation and service teams as well as a nationwide network of specialist electrical partners ensure that Deutsche Lichtmiete's customers can run their projects smoothly.

The market continues to offer great potential for LED industrial lighting. "A large proportion of industrial companies in Germany still have to be retrofitted. In view of the necessary energy saving and energy efficiency measures, LED lighting is becoming increasingly important. To date, we have carried out over 300 conversion projects with highly efficient LED technology made in Germany and full-service project management and thus have extensive experience," says authorized signatory Christian Effenberger, thus putting Deutsche Lichtmiete in a good position for the future.
