Leapmotor International, a Stellantis-led joint venture between Stellantis and Leapmotor, has shipped the first fully electric vehicles - namely the C10 SUV and the T03 - from Shanghai to Europe. There are to be 200 sales outlets in Europe before the end of this year.

The C10 e-models are characterised by their particularly high performance, efficiency and range. In June 2024, Leapmotor was the fourth-largest Chinese start-up for new energy vehicles in China in terms of sales.

Over the next three years, Leapmotor plans to launch at least one new model every year. By utilising the Stellantis sales channels, Leapmotor plans to increase the number of sales outlets for its vehicles in Europe from 200 at the end of this year to 500 in 2026. This coverage will ensure a high level of service.

The Leapmotor C10

The Leapmotor C10 is Leapmotor's first vehicle to be built to international design and safety standards. It is based on Leapmotor's proprietary LEAP3.0 technology architecture with a centralised E/E architecture, cell-to-chassis (CTC) technology and intelligent cockpit. The vehicle is a family-friendly car in the D-segment. The model achieves a range of 420 km (according to WLTP) and is capable of achieving a 5-star E-NCAP rating.

After winning the »2023 International CMF Design Award« for its technological and aesthetic design, the vehicle recently received the »2024 Gold Award« from the French Design Award (FDA) and the »2024 Gold Award« from the American MUSE Design Award.

The Leapmotor T03

The Leapmotor T03 is a small five-door - an elegant city car in the A-segment with an interior reminiscent of the B-segment. The vehicle has a range of 265 km (according to WLTP). In the J.D. Power Initial Quality Study, the model took first place in the small all-electric vehicle (BEV) segment.

»The delivery of the first Leapmotor C10 and T03 vehicles to Europe this month is a milestone in the Stellantis and Leapmotor partnership,« said Stellantis CEO Carlos Tavares. »This step reinforces our commitment to providing our customers with innovative and sustainable mobility solutions. Given Stellantis' solid business base in Europe and the hard work of our companies' teams to ensure product innovation and quality, I am firmly convinced that Leapmotor's vehicles will be accepted by European customers. We look forward to the opportunities that this partnership will bring.«

»In the first half of July, Leapmotor reached the mark of more than 400,000 new energy vehicles sold in China,« emphasises Zhu Jiangming, founder, chairman and CEO of Leapmotor. »China is the largest and most competitive market for electric cars in the world, and our vehicles have proven their value. This is confirmed by the overall satisfaction of our local customers. The C10 and T03 models were designed from the outset to meet the high standards of global customers.«
