Standards have made many things possible when it comes to using Ethernet in cars: they provide a robust technical foundation and make even complex applications manageable. Nevertheless, the problem remains that the time to SOP is still too long. In other areas, Open Source solutions have proven to be a catalyst: they accelerate the pace of development through community-driven innovation and reference implementations. To what extent could Open Source also be helpful for automotive Ethernet – and who ultimately pays for it? This is the topic of the opening keynote by Thomas Königseder (Technica) at the twelfth Automotive Ethernet Congress from March 24 to 26, 2026, in Munich.

In addition, the numerous presentations by industry experts will cover topics such as networked audio and optical solutions. Other focal points include topics such as service-oriented architecture, security, high-speed solutions, TSN, and switch software. On the first day, there will also be an intensive practical training session entitled “Ethernet Unlocked: In-Vehicle Networks with TSN, SOME/IP & MACsec.”

The detailed event program can be found on the conference website, along with further information about the event and participant registration. Participants can take advantage of discounted early bird offers until January 27, 2026.
