To bridge the growing gap between modern systems and legacy technology still in use around the world, industrial computing specialist OnLogic has introduced the Helix 511 edge computer. It is designed for use in manufacturing, automation, energy management and other edge and IoT applications. With a wide range of modern and legacy connectivity options, the Helix 511 easily connects to systems at the point of use.

The Helix 511 can be configured with a range of 12th generation Intel processors, from Celeron to Core i7. Up to 64GB of DDR5 memory provides higher bandwidth and lower latency with lower power consumption than with DDR4. Integrated graphics options include Intel UHD or Intel Iris Xe. Windows, Ubuntu Linux or Red Hat Enterprise Linux are available as operating systems.

The diverse application possibilities are supported by two Thunderbolt 4 certified ports. They provide high-bandwidth connectivity to devices or displays. In addition, up to four simultaneous connections via Serial ports enable communication with legacy devices. In addition, the Helix 511 can be configured with an integrated digital input/output (DIO). This enables programmable signaling and control. The system can also be configured with an integrated cellular modem. It is already certified for operation in many cellular networks worldwide.

In keeping with its intended use in industrial environments, the Helix 511 has been tested and certified to numerous industry standards. These include FCC, CE, UKCA, CB, cULus, VCCI and RCM. In addition, the system has undergone a series of electromagnetic compatibility (EMC) tests. This includes meeting medical device requirements for electrostatic discharge protection up to 15,000 volts (IEC 60601-1-2) and maritime emissions and immunity requirements (EN 60945). The system operates reliably at temperatures from 0 to 50 °C. It can be powered from 12 to 24 volts and is suitable for wall, VESA and DIN rail mounting.

The Helix 511 qualifies for OnLogic's Extended Support Program. It offers a five-year warranty, around-the-clock technical support and additional services to support system deployment well into the future.
