Users are still reducing inventories, and new capacities are also pushing the market, which were completed in the second half of 2018 and are now becoming noticeable. This is why not only the prices for DRAMs have fallen, but also the manufacturers' sales: by no less than 28.6 percent compared to the previous quarter.

The price decline will continue in the second quarter: The analysts predict a 25 percent decline in contract prices. DRAMs for servers, which represent a share of 30 percent, are expected to come under even more pressure.

Samsung's revenue in the first quarter of 2019 fell 26.3 percent from the fourth quarter of 2018 to nearly $7 billion, representing a market share of 43.7 percent. SK Hynix suffered a decline of 31.7 percent to $4.88 billion (29.9 percent market share). Micron ranks third with a market share of 23 percent. Sales slumped by 30 percent to 3.76 billion dollars.
