11 new members from various industries have joined the ISELED Alliance: Originally developed for the automotive industry, the digital LED is now penetrating completely new market sectors.
This shows that the new technology is in the process of conquering completely new market sectors in addition to the automotive industry, as Robert Kraus, CEO of html" href="https://www.elektroniknet.de/anbieterkompass/inova-semiconductors-gmbh-8814413.html">Inova Semiconductors, explains: "The close cooperation with the alliance partners makes it possible for us to realize a dynamic display backlight with ISELED, for example, which a journalist spontaneously described as an "OLED killer". We are also working on the first systems for outdoor lighting - also for car-man communication - and are currently introducing a new ISELED-based fieldbus, the ICN (ISELED Communication Network). It connects not only lighting elements, but also sensors and actuators".
Due to the many possibilities that ISELED offers, the number of members of the ISELED Alliance has doubled to 22 since November 2018. The spectrum now ranges from semiconductor manufacturers to lighting/design specialists to large Tier 1 automotive suppliers. This covers the entire value chain in order to establish ISELED as a standard solution - beyond the automotive industry in the future.
The new members include LED manufacturers such as Brightek from Taiwan or ITSWELL from Korea, Allegro MicroSystems from the USA - manufacturer of power and sensor semiconductors, the Bamberg company UG-System for test systems and ISYS RTS, software developer from Munich. Lightworks from Holzkirchen and feno from Oberhaching specialize in lighting design and the development of the corresponding electronics. The company novem from Vorbach (Bavaria), which sees itself as the world market leader for high-quality decorative parts and decorative functional elements in vehicle interiors, is also a new member of the ISELED alliance. The same applies to the globally operating Prettl group from Pfullingen (Baden Württemberg), which offers the complete package of sophisticated, high-quality lighting and plastic modules/systems for vehicle interiors and exteriors.
With Hella and Grupo Antolin, two further leading automotive suppliers in the lighting sector enrich the ISELED ecosystem. Stephan Fritsch, Head of Electronics Development at Hella Innenleuchten-Systeme GmbH, comments: "Limited installation space is one of the greatest challenges in the interior lighting segment. The highly integrated ISELED technology opens up completely new possibilities for us to implement innovative lighting solutions. Therefore, we are very pleased to be part of the alliance."
"ISELED technology enables us to equip the vehicle interiors that we develop and manufacture with even better lighting solutions," says Markus Daubner, Technical Director Ambient Lighting at Grupo Antolin.
Initially started with five members in autumn 2016, Inova Semiconductors presented ISELED for the first time at electronica 2016. "The stormy development since then clearly shows that light in the vehicle is increasingly becoming an important design element, but that it will also take on functional tasks in the future," says Robert Kraus. "In combination with displays, light will become an integral part of innovative visualization concepts, especially with regard to highly automated and autonomous driving.
