TDK's new robotics development platform "TDK RoboKit1" is suitable for rapid prototyping. It is available in two versions: as a stand-alone development platform and as a full robot reference design.
The development board serves as a robust hardware platform with complete drivers and software algorithms compatible with the open-source robot operating systems ROS 1 and ROS 2 (Robot Operating System). It includes a 6-axis IMU (Inertial Measuring Unit) with 3-axis gyroscope and 3-axis accelerometer, as well as the "RoboVac" algorithm that uses IMU data for course calculation. In addition, it consists of a capacitive barometric pressure sensor, a digital I²S microphone (x4), a temperature sensor, an embedded motor controller, and a magnetometer. Depending on which version of the platform is purchased, the board will also be joined by TDK’s industrial IMU sensor module via flex cables as well as a full robotic chassis and 3D printed casing, allowing all end customers to develop a fully functional robotic reference design.

The TDK RoboKit1 is available to order now through distribution channels worldwide. Availability for shipping is targeted for mid Q1 2022.
