Industry Meeting with 500 Participants

Demystifying EMC started seven years ago as a one-day conference and has now become the leading industry gathering for EMC experts in the United Kingdom, with around 500 participants expected, according to Rohde & Schwarz. The development points in the direction of the »industry veterans« such as EMV in Cologne and Stuttgart. Although it has a different status with around 2800 visitors, it was also founded much earlier (1988) and is implemented by a pure trade fair organizer. In 2021, EMV will also be held purely virtually.

At Rohde & Schwarz, they are looking at the opportunities associated with the forced changeover: »By moving to a digital format, formerly local events are now accessible to a much wider audience,« says Marketing Director Steven Edwards.

Session on EMC Basics and Training by R&S-Partners

The tradefair will feature expert presentations by R&S staff and by independent training and industry partners. The online conference program will open each day with a session on EMC basics, according to the organizers. It will be delivered by Lee Hill of Silent Solutions, who will share his knowledge gained from 30 years of EMC experience in training, problem solving and electronics design.

The first keynote presentation promises a look at RF measurement technology, which is becoming increasingly relevant. It will be given by Christina Geßner, vice president of spectrum and network analyzers and EMC test at Rohde & Schwarz. Conference afternoons are set aside for training sessions by EMC partners and will highlight industry trends for product design, testing and simulation to regulatory requirements and standards.

An online trade show will be held in parallel. Specific EMC-related questions can be discussed with experts via a chat function. According to the organizers, Element Material Technologies, Eurofins E&E, Würth Electronics, Dassault Simulia, EMC Partner, Albatross Projects, UL and TÜV SÜD will participate.
