Contactless Payment System for Vending Machines
More and more people want to pay contactless - even small amounts of money. The number of mobile payment systems in Germany is growing. Garz & Fricke also presents a contactless payment system.
Every fifth payment via a Girocard was contactless in the first half of 2019. But contactless payment is not already possible everywhere. Garz & Fricke wants to change this and therefore developed the contactless payment system »KarL4«.
With the embedded system, private individuals can pay amounts of up to € 25 by Girocard very conveniently, contactlessly and without entering a PIN. The manufacturer wants to primarily serve vending machines and the electromobility sector. The focus will also be on gastronomy and retail, as bakeries and butchers will be dispensing with cash in the future for hygienic reasons. KarL4 already received the necessary approval from the German banking industry in 2018.
Complete system
For transmission, the system uses the Near Field Communication (NFC) standard. This enables customer-friendly and secure handling of mobile payments: draw out card, place and pay. Garz & Fricke also offers the system as a complete package. Then it can be combined with in-house touch display HMIs. Companies that choose the contactless payment system receive a complete package consisting of reliable payment processing and terminal management. Additional contracts, for example with payment service providers or mobile phone operators, are no longer necessary.
Easy installation
If a customer wants to install the system in an existing machine, only four holes are required. Since the controller is located inside the KarL4 housing, it is protected against vandalism and weather influences.
Commissioning is fully automatic. The embedded system can go online directly via the integrated LTE modem with SIM chip. No network administration is required. With the help of secure age verification, the system prevents the issue of certain goods to minors. This means that the self-service machines can easily meet the requirements for the protection of children.
