The industrial PC specialist compmall presents the new embedded PC »DX-1200«, which offers high CPU performance with the current processor generation Alder Lake from Intel. Predestined fields of application are machine vision, smart factory applications, machine control or edge AI applications.
The significant increase in processor performance of 135 percent compared to the previous generation Comet Lake is based on the 12th generation Intel processors. Twelve processors are available: The Intel Core i9-12900E with 16 cores and a maximum frequency of 5 GHz at 65 W power loss offers the maximum performance, the »economy variant« is a Celeron G6900TE with two cores and a frequency of 2.4 GHz at 35 W power loss. An external fan is recommended from a power loss of 65 W to reliably dissipate the heat from the case to the environment.
With the latest DDR5 memory technology, compmall ensures that high system performance requirements and improved energy efficiency are met. Two 4800 MHz DDR5 SO-DIMM sockets allow the integration of 64 GB. Graphics performance correlates with CPU performance. Intel Core i9/i7/i5 access Intel UHD Graphics 770, Intel Core i3 access Intel UHD Graphics 730 and Pentium and Celeron access Intel UHD Graphics 710. The processor supports a total of four independent displays, which the DX-1200 connects via HDMI and DisplayPort with 4K resolution each and DVI-I (with Y-cable for VGA and DVI-D) with Full HD resolution.
Two 2.5-inch HDD/SSD are available for data storage, which support RAID 0/1/5/10. Two mSATA sockets allow the integration of additional flash SATA3 cards.
Thanks to the modular design, the standard interfaces audio, RS-232/422/485, USB 3.2 Gen 1 and Gen2 as well as Gigabit Ethernet can be generously supplemented. Two mini PCIe slots and proprietary CMI modules are available for this purpose. Thus, it is possible to equip the DX-1200 with 12 Gb Ethernet ports. Another option to the two GbE ports in the standard is an additional four 10 GbE ports. Or eight additional GbE ports with Power-over-Ethernet capability. For deployments in high-vibration environments, GbE ports with M12 connectors are the ideal option, either M-coded or X-coded. Additional digital inputs and outputs or RS-232/422/485 are also possible. Modularity allows the DX-1200 to be adapted to many requirements, so that one piece of hardware can perform many different tasks.
An M.2 E-key slot supports Intel CNVi, giving the DX-1200 WLAN/Bluetooth connectivity. SIM card integration is standard and the proprietary CFM module adds Ignition Sensing Control functionality to the embedded PC.
The DX-1200's test marks range from product safety (UL, cUL and IEC/EN 62368-1), electromagnetic compatibility (E-Mark, EN 50121-3-2, CE, UKCA, FCC, ICES-003 Class A) and fire protection (EN 45545-2) to certifications for vibration and shock resistance (MIL-STD-810G). The embedded PC thus meets the strict US safety requirements and fulfills the conditions for installation in commercial and railroad vehicles.
The DX-1200 can operate in the range between -40 and 70 °C with a 35-Watt processor and in the range between -40 and 50 °C with a 65-Watt processor with external fan.
Since the DX-1200 is configurable to the maximum extent, compmall can tailor the embedded PC very precisely to the respective requirement. In addition to the standardized modules, compmall can integrate customer-specific hardware. With services such as the installation of the desired operating system, BIOS adjustments and the integration of customer-specific software, the developer receives a high-quality and individual ready-to-use system that is tested as a complete system.
