A panel of experts entitled "China and its role in the global semiconductor value chain" held at embedded world 2021 DIGITAL on Tuesday morning (2nd of March) promises interesting insights.
Geopolitical changes had the effect for not only the USA but meanwhile also Europe pushing for European-based semiconductor manufacturing for the smallest process geometries. Also China has been trying for years to reduce its dependency in the semiconductor sector on foreign semiconductor companies with huge investments to build up its own semiconductor industry.
So far, China's importance as a semiconductor nation is still comparatively low, even though a large part of the semiconductors is delivered to China. But there is a profound fear that this could change quickly. With the panel discussion taking place at embedded world 2021 DIGITAL, an insight into the status quo of the Chinese semiconductor industry will be given with a view to the facts. On 2nd March 2021 from 8.00 to 9.30 a.m. (GMT+1:00), three top-class panelists, Prof. Dr. Allan He, China Software Industry Embedded System Associations, Prof. Dr. Jiao Jiwei, VP SIWAVE Inc. and Michael Haidar, Global VP, Gigadevice Semiconductor (Chinese semiconductor manufacturer), will discuss interesting questions in an online panel. Participants will also have the opportunity to ask questions. So get up early or stay up late, it's worth it.
