BorgWarner has inaugurated its new technical center in Nuremberg. By expanding its activities in a region known as a technology hub, the company aims to further strengthen its commitment to e-mobility.
In the future, highly efficient power electronics will be developed for automotive manufacturers worldwide at the technical center, which is to be significantly expanded in the coming years.
For battery-powered electric vehicles, there is already a trend towards 400 V as the mainstream architecture and towards 800 V systems for the premium and high-performance segment. In the future, BorgWarner's system, software and hardware solutions for the sophisticated power electronics of these vehicles will be developed in Nuremberg. Customers throughout Europe are expected to benefit from this. The inauguration was attended by local employees and representatives of BorgWarner management.
