Comau is working with e-vehicle manufacturer Mullen to expand a body assembly plant at Mullen's AMEC manufacturing facility in Mississippi. The expansion plans include 112,000 sqm for body-in-white, paint and general assembly facilities.

A state-of-the-art body plant for the new FIVE EV crossover is to be built at Mullen's site in Tunica, USA. Comau, a provider of industrial automation solutions and systems and part of Stellantis, is helping the carmaker with process design and equipment for the AMEC plant where the FIVE will be built.

Comau's long experience in designing body-in-white (BIW) plants for the automotive industry is expected to give Mullen a competitive advantage in terms of efficiency and BIW quality.

The FIVE is based on an EV crossover skateboard platform that offers multiple powertrain configurations and trim levels in a sleek design.
