Bernd Eder, Chief Operating Officer of the Kontron Transportation Group and member of the extended Management Board of Kontron AG, is new Chief Executive Officer of Kontron Transportation. He takes over the position from Michael Riegert.

Bernd Eder, 44, studied business administration and is a Carinthian by birth. He has been working in the rail industry for more than 15 years, since 2019 as Chief Operating Officer of the Kontron Transportation Group. In 2022, he was appointed to the extended Management Board of Kontron AG. Prior to that, he was Chief Financial Officer of Kapsch Carrier Com for more than 10 years and in this role he played a leading part in the restructuring and integration into the Kontron Group. In this role, Bernd Eder succeeds Michael Riegert, who is COO IoT Europe and Executive Board Member of Kontron AG.

Bernd Eder lives with his family in Vienna. He is a speaker at the Carinthia University of Applied Sciences, a member of the Carinthia Mountain Rescue Team and an ambitious endurance athlete. As an enthusiastic cyclist, he covers many distances by bike. Contributing to environmental protection and sustainability by improving rail and public transport is a major concern for the passionate user of public transport.

Bernd Eder manages the combination of traditional management skills to stabilize companies as well as the use of innovative strategies for international corporate growth. In addition, he pushes the New Way of Working and makes the group of companies an attractive and successful employer. The corporate culture focuses on cross-divisional and cross-location cooperation and teamwork. Encouraging young employees to become experts is just as much a corporate goal as supporting women in their careers.
