There are currently 89 blockchain companies based in Berlin. Munich follows with 23 companies. Blockchain applications for industry form a main focus.
According to the latest study by BTC-ECHO and BlockState, 39 of the surveyed blockchain companies deal with finance and cryptography, 28 have named IoT, energy, and data as focal points. The fields of mobility, mining, as well as logistics and supply chain can also be counted among the industrial area of the blockchain, to which 13 companies feel they belong, so that a total of 41 companies deal with blockchain technology in order to apply it in an industrial environment. These are some of the results of a study conducted jointly by BTC-ECHO and BlockState. Of 180 Blockchain start-ups in Germany, over 100 took part in the survey.
What does the Blockchain ecosystem look like in Germany? How many companies in Germany deal with the Blockchain? How large is the sector overall, who is already earning money in which sectors? In order to answer these questions, BTC-ECHO and BlockState conducted the joint study. It brought further interesting results: 67 percent of the Blockchain companies already generate sales, 53 percent employ less than ten people, and most (86 of the respondents) finance themselves through ICOs.
