Aumovio and BMW partner on brake systems
Aumovio and the BMW Group have entered into a long-term supply and development agreement, thereby expanding their technology partnership. The focus is on collaboration on production projects for braking technologies and electronic solutions.
These include, among other things, the MK C2 integrated braking system, as well as components and systems such as brake calipers and other electronic control solutions for future vehicle platforms. The planned order volume exceeds one billion euros.
For the MK C2, the companies have agreed to extend series deliveries through the mid-2030s. The MK C2 is an integrated one-box braking system from Aumovio that combines the master cylinder, brake booster, and control functions — such as the anti-lock braking system and electronic stability control — into a compact and lightweight module. The system also supports key requirements of modern vehicle platforms, such as faster autonomous brake pressure build-up, efficient regenerative braking, and functions for highly automated driving.
Under the terms of the agreement, both companies will settle all pending legal proceedings related to an integrated braking system that AUMOVIO—formerly Continental’s Automotive division—manufactured for the BMW Group, by mutual agreement, through payments by AUMOVIO totaling 350 million euros.
