ams Osram extends CEO Aldo Kamper’s contract
The Supervisory Board of ams Osram AG has reappointed Chief Executive Officer Aldo Kamper and agreed on a new contract running from October 1, 2026, to September 30, 2031. His previous term was due to expire in March 2027. Kamper has led the company since April 2023.
Focus on portfolio and financial strength
According to the company, Kamper has overseen a strategic realignment aimed at focusing the portfolio and improving profitability.
Shortly after becoming CEO, he launched the "Re-establish the Base" efficiency program. During his tenure, ams OSRAM also streamlined its organizational structure, reduced debt and strengthened its financial position. The sale of the non-optical sensing business was completed on July 1, 2026, allowing the company to focus on its optical core business and digital photonics markets such as augmented reality and data communications.
Supervisory Board cites strategic progress
Supervisory Board Chair Dr. Margarete Haase said the extension reflects the board’s confidence in Kamper’s leadership. She cited the implementation of the efficiency program, the strengthened financial base and the company’s positioning in digital photonics as key achievements.
CEO sees foundation for next growth phase
Kamper said the company has established the basis for its next phase of growth as a focused technology company and intends to continue expanding its position in digital photonics.
He joined Osram in 1994 and held several management positions in Europe and the United States before becoming CEO of the Opto Semiconductors business unit in 2010. In 2018, he became CEO of Leoni AG before returning to the company as CEO of ams Osram in 2023.
