Alissa M. Fitzgerald, founder and CEO of A. M. Fitzgerald, was recognized as Executive of the Year at the 2024 Best of Sensors Awards.
For 30 years, the Best of Sensors Awards has shone a spotlight on the best and most innovative products, technologies, teams and people in the sensors industry.
The award was presented by Sensors Converge and Fierce Electronics at the Sensors Converge conference on Tuesday 25th June in Santa Clara.
»At the founding of my company, I chose to develop a multitude of emerging MEMS-based technologies into exciting products on behalf of our clients – rather than make an all-in bet on a single product,« said Alissa. »And I’m gratified that my choice of career path continues to advance scientific achievement, technology development and commercial production readiness in MEMS and sensors. Having attended this conference over the past 15 years, I’m deeply honored to receive this recognition from the Best of Sensors Awards committee.«
Over 325 other participants took part at the 40th anniversary of the Hilton Head Workshop. IEEE Spectrum's new eBook collection MEMS@40 celebrates the 40th anniversary of the seminal Hilton Head Workshop. Nearly all of the MEMS products we enjoy today trace their lineage to research presented years ago at Hilton Head. The collection features Spectrum articles from the past and present, written by Spectrum's journalists and MEMS experts.
Alissa's presentation on 40 years of MEMS Innovation sparked animated discussions. A hot air balloon journey through the evolution of ideas to commercialization, it was a testament to her expertise and the vibrant spirit of innovation in the MEMS field.
