The Bosch LegendsLab platform connects some 4 million software and engineering experts with potential projects, including in the field of embedded systems. It is based on its predecessor freelancernetwork, which was launched in 2021.
Project managers are to use it to make contact with freelancers; in total, the portal networks 4 million software experts worldwide. Some of these are registered on the platform themselves or are integrated via search algorithms from various data sources. This data pool includes freelancers as well as many small, specialized companies.
"We want to use the power of this network not only to optimally staff exciting Bosch projects, but also to deliberately make them available to other companies and enterprises," says Dr. Tanja Rückert, managing director at Bosch for Digital Business and Services. Even Bosch cannot fill all projects internally, so it is necessary to involve highly qualified external experts, Rückert said.
Software experts gain access to projects from the Bosch Group and other companies on Bosch LegendsLab, including in the areas of application software, cloud applications, cyber security, data analytics, embedded systems, functional security, artificial intelligence, system architecture or user experience.
Bosch LegendsLab is based on its predecessor freelancernetwork, which was launched in 2021 and has "grown enormously," according to Bosch. The new portal has additional functions such as end-to-end process digitization and an international data pool. In addition, there is support for compliance issues, contracting and billing.
The online portal is operated by the Bosch Group and its subsidiary ITK Engineering. "The growth of the platform in the last 12 months shows how great and unmet the global need is to find challenging projects and highly qualified digital experts," says Martin Kröger, CEO Bosch LegendsLab.
