3-phase analysis for power and drives with MXO oscilloscope
Rohde & Schwarz has introduced the new 3-phase power-analysis option (R&S MXO-K333) for the MXO 3, 4 and 5/5C series oscilloscopes, enabling the best-in-class waveform analysis tool for in-depth 3-phase AC power characterization.
The solution simplifies total power results, multiphase AC power qualities, harmonic standard testing and distortion measurements, while keeping the original transient waveforms in view for instant root-cause tracing.
At PCIM Expo, visitors can explore how a guided setup wizard maps the eight available channels of the MXO 5 to three voltage and three current probes, validates wiring (supporting two-wire, three-wire and four-wire configurations – 2V2A, 3V3A, 3VN3A). The wizard configures the instrument automatically, after which the software delivers per-cycle power calculations, RMS values, power factor, active and reactive power, total power, phasor/vector visualization and harmonic/THD analysis in line with IEC 61000-3-2, all presented with power-waveform views, harmonic spectra, FFT statistics and phasor diagrams. This solution provides engineers with the same depth of insight they would expect from a dedicated power analyzer, directly on the MXO 5 oscilloscope.
