Since 1995, the IMMS has developed 254 ASICs, transferred them to production in 67 tape-outs and characterized them metrologically. For its precision drives, the IMMS has advanced from micrometer to sub-nanometer accuracy together with the TU Ilmenau. The IMMS has built 1142 wireless sensor nodes for various applications, collaborated in 847 projects with 625 partners, presented results in 1020 publications, among others, and supervised 436 students. 196 employees have linked science and industry since its foundation in order to transfer results from basic research into applications.
The IMMS Institute for Microelectronic and Mechatronic Systems strengthens small and medium-sized enterprises in Thuringia with application-oriented research and development in microelectronics, mechatronics and systems engineering – from feasibility studies to series production.
