Conrad Electronic SE CEO Holger Ruban resigns surprisingly

Holger Ruban, Conrad

Holger Ruban, Conrad Electronic: "After five years with the Conrad Group and as CEO of Conrad Electronic SE, I will be leaving the company by mutual agreement on April 30, 2018"

In electronics distribution, the news is likely to hit like a bomb: after five years, the paths of CEO Holger Ruban and Conrad will separate almost overnight. Why?

In a personal letter, Holger Ruban addressed the electronics editorial team and said: "After five years with the Conrad Group and as CEO of Conrad Electronic SE, I will be leaving the company by mutual agreement on April 30, 2018".
If one reads between the lines, then differences have probably arisen in the future orientation of the Conrad Group with the owner’s family around the Chairman of the Board of Directors Dr. Werner Conrad.
Ruban draws a positive balance for his work: "The strategic repositioning of Conrad Electronic and the associated focus on B2B and professional B2C customers, the introduction of a B2B marketplace and the expansion of international activities are only some of the major milestones that I have achieved together with my colleagues in management, a great team of employees and also with our business partners.
Indeed, the creation of a B2B marketplace based on the model of the online retailer Amazon was a courageous and innovative step that attracted widespread attention in the industry, but perhaps did not achieve the desired success quickly enough. It is exciting to see whether Conrad will hold on to the B2B marketplace in the era after Ruban.
Ruban's duties will be assumed by Dr. Werner Conrad until further notice.
